Summary
This privacy policy describes how Codivo Labs (“Codivo Labs”, “we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the Storage Optimizer application for iOS (the “App”).
The App is designed to work entirely offline as far as your content is concerned. It analyses storage usage on your device, on your device, and reports the results back to you. We do not operate a backend service for the App, we do not receive your files or information about them, and there is no mechanism in the App by which we could.
Because we collect nothing, there is no data of yours for us to sell, share, lose, or hand to anybody else.
Data we do not collect
To be unambiguous, the App does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any other contact information
- Account credentials — the App has no accounts and no sign-in
- Your photos, videos, documents, or any other file content, and no copies, thumbnails, hashes or previews of them
- File names, folder names, or directory listings from your device
- Usage analytics, event logs, session recordings, or feature telemetry
- Crash reports or diagnostic logs sent to us
- Advertising identifiers (including the Identifier for Advertisers), device fingerprints, or any other tracking identifiers
- Location data of any kind, precise or approximate
- Contacts, calendars, health data, or microphone or camera input
- Payment or financial information
The App contains no advertising, no third-party trackers, and no cross-app tracking. We do not build profiles of users, because we have no users to profile.
How the app works on your device
To tell you what is consuming your storage, the App needs to read information about the files on your device. That reading happens locally, inside the App's own process on your device, and the results are held only for as long as you have the App open.
- Scanning. The App enumerates files and media it has been given permission to see, and measures their size, type and creation date.
- Duplicate detection. Comparisons between your photos are computed on the device. Nothing about the comparison — not the images, not the results — is transmitted anywhere.
- Results. Scan results live in the App's memory and, where the App saves your preferences, in the App's own private storage container on your device. That container is protected by the operating system and is not readable by us or by other apps.
- Deletion. Nothing is deleted without your explicit confirmation. The App does not delete files in the background or on a schedule.
- Uninstalling. Removing the App from your device deletes its private storage container and any preferences it held.
Permissions the app requests
The operating system will ask your permission before the App can access certain things. We request the minimum needed for the feature you are using, and the App remains usable — with reduced functionality — if you decline.

You can review or revoke these permissions at any time in your device's Settings app. Granting a permission gives access to the App on your device; it does not give access to us.
Information Apple may collect
The App is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple operates the store, the payment mechanism and the platform, and Apple collects its own information under its own privacy policy — which we do not control.
- If you choose to share diagnostics and usage information with developers in your device settings, Apple may make aggregated, anonymised reports available to us through App Store Connect — for example the total number of downloads, crash counts by app version, or aggregate performance metrics. These reports do not identify you and we cannot link them to any individual.
- Apple handles any purchase, subscription or refund entirely. We never receive your payment card details, and we do not receive your name or email address from Apple in connection with a purchase.
- If you leave a review on the App Store, that review and the display name attached to it are published by Apple.

Third parties and SDKs
The App bundles no third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash reporting software development kits. Specifically, it does not include software from analytics or advertising vendors, and it makes no network requests to any such service.
We do not sell, rent, trade or otherwise disclose personal information to third parties, because we do not hold any. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
If a future version of the App introduces any feature that requires network access or data collection, we will update this policy before that version is released and make the change clear in the App itself.
If you email support
The one situation in which we hold information about you is when you choose to contact us. If you email support@codivolabs.com, we receive whatever you send: your email address, your message, and anything you attach such as a screenshot.
- Purpose. We use it solely to answer you and to fix the problem you reported.
- Legal basis (where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies). Our legitimate interest in providing support for our software, and in some cases the performance of our agreement with you.
- Retention. Support correspondence is kept for up to 24 months so that we have context if you write again, then deleted.
- Recipients. Our email provider processes the message in order to deliver and store it. We do not pass it to anyone else.
Please do not send us copies of personal files when reporting a bug. We do not need them, and we would rather not have them.
Children's privacy
The App does not collect personal information from anybody, including children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and because the App has no data collection mechanism at all, there is nothing for a parent or guardian to request the deletion of. If you believe we hold information about a child through support correspondence, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Your content stays on your device, protected by the operating system's own sandboxing and encryption. This substantially reduces your exposure: there is no server of ours to breach and no database of user files to leak.
You remain responsible for the security of the device itself — a device passcode, up-to-date system software and your own backups. We strongly recommend keeping a current backup before deleting anything, in the App or otherwise.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. These rights arise under laws including the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act.
For the App itself these rights are satisfied by design: we hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing to access, export, correct or erase. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for targeted advertising, so there is no opt-out to exercise. We do not use personal data for automated decision-making or profiling.
If you have emailed us, you may ask us to provide a copy of that correspondence or to delete it. Write to privacy@codivolabs.com and we will respond within 30 days. We will not charge you or degrade your use of the App for exercising any right.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where the change is material — for example if a future release began collecting any data at all — we will make it prominent in the App and in the App Store release notes before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the App after a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
